Natural Hair is beautiful. This is a statement that most individuals with natural hair can agree with. On the other hand if you have natural hair there are some days where you dream of applying that creamy mask on just to permanently divorce you from the woes that come with caring, treating, and loving on your natural hair. As a naturalista myself I understand the pain, but I am here to remind you that the journey that you've been on is not in vain, so I curated some tips to help you in enjoying the natural hair ride.

Here are a few tips on how you can begin to REALLY care for your natural hair:

1) Understand your hair texture & type

I personally have 4C hair , and I dont like to struggle to comb it. This is the reason why I use Hair Magnolia's products( see the plug I just did there ??!! :)). My hair type experiences the most shrinkage compared to the hair types that come before it. Dryness is a major issue for 4C hair so I've learned over the years the products and protective styles that I can leverage to promote growth and seal in moisture. I recommend that you  use the power of the internet to conduct you research around everything related to your hair type and texture.

2) Identify with other individuals who possess the same hair texture

Connect with these individuals on social media(e.g. Facebook groups, Instagram, and Youtube) and share ideas around hair care, hair struggles, and hair triumphs. You can learn so much simply by connecting with others who share a similar experience.

3) Study your hair( i.e. figure out what products work the best with your hair type)

This ties into point #1, you may have to test out several products, but the objective is to identify a set of products that are ideal for your hair. These are products that leave your hair feeling clean without stripping it of its natural oils, yet its powerful enough to remove any buildup, and leaves your coils smiling from ear to ear.

4) Embrace your hair

Your hair is your ornamental jewel that will require some tender, love and care. Your hair journey is what you make it. I understand that during the transitioning period you may not "embrace" your hair as much because you're adjusting to a new "look", but overtime with proper care your hair will flourish and so will your spirit.
